Cancel order to change color?

I went in store today to upgrade my phone. They didn't have the one I wanted in stock, but offered to have it shipped to me, then I could come in for the activation and trade-in later. We did so, but the employee mistakenly selected the default color (not blaming her. She likely just glossed over that during the process). Now that I'm home I checked the order and realized this, and realized it is a color I don't want. At the moment the order has not shipped yet. Do I need to cancel the order and make a new one for the color I want? If I do so, will the $100+ I paid in taxes be refunded/applied to the new order?

Yes.  And It's possible that even though it does not indicate it's shipped, that you're cancellation will not get to it in time. You've wind up having to do a return. Just make sure the phone box itself is still sealed with the little tabs and they'll be no restock fee.

No.  Unfortunately your refund would probably take a week.

I don't know why AT&T does it this way it's completely ridiculous to me but you'd wind up showing out for taxes all over again
