Change sim card

Am purchasing an unlocked Galaxy S10 and currently have a Galaxy S8. I want to keep my AT&T service, however they want a very high price for a new S10 and I am saving 300$ ordering a new one online. Do I extract the sim card from my S8 and put it in the new S10, or go to an AT&T store and have them insert one? Will there be any other issues to address, or will the phone work as soon as the sim is inserted? Thanks!

You can put the sim from your S8 in the new S10.  It should work immediately and as long as you keep everything on your plan the same there should be no issues.  I actually got a new sim with my new phone (S10+) last year but it wouldn't work so I tried the one from the phone I was originally using (S8) and it worked immediately.
