No November Security Update
Growing concerned as my Nexus 6 (Marshmallow 6.0.1 / Build MMB30Y) has still not received the November Security Update via OTA. I'm still stuck on the October 5, 2016 Security Patch. ATT states that security updates take 6 days to rollout--here we are 17 days late. According to ATT's Nexus 6 page, my phone should have been able to update to MMB31C by now. Should I be concerned?
BTW I contacted ATT customer service and they were clueless telling me to wait for the next December Security update that should start rolling out 12/5. In addition, I've never modified my phone in any way. Still using the stock software and same active ATT sim.
If I haven't received November's update, concerned that I won't receive December's either.
What's going on?

Hi there @Col4bin!
Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having with that software and security update on your Nexus 6! I can understand your concern and I’ll be happy to help out where I can.
Do you happen to be getting any errors when you attempt to update or is the phone telling you that your software is currently up-to-date? The answer to this can definitely help me find out which direction to go towards a resolution. In the meantime, you might want to take a look into one of the AT&T Device Support Centers spread around the country. If you have one in your area, they can push updates to you directly, right there on location!
Keep me posted and get back to me! I look forward to hearing from you, thanks for reaching out and have a fantastic day!

Hello – upon checking my Nexus 6 Software Update screen in Android settings, my device is telling me that it is up-to-date (build MMB30Y). This is obviosuly not true however as AT&T's November Security Patch OTA for Nexus 6 was pushed on 11/5 and again on 11/17. I never received any OTA notifications for this update. Why?
Should I also be concerned that I will not be getting Nougat 7.0 / build NBD91J that was just approved by AT&T and released for Nexus 6 on 12/6?

Hey @Col4bin!
Thanks for letting me know about the exact nature of the issue. Just to double check, you did purchase that device through AT&T? I know it’s probably a silly question, but it would make sense for you not to be getting updates OTA if the device wasn’t purchased from us.
Did you ever get the chance to look into a Device Support Center being in your area? That link provided above can help you out with tracking them down. Those locations can force push software updates to your device, as well as perform warranty exchanges if you qualify. It’s definitely worth a look.
As far as the Nougat update, I’d imagine that you haven’t gotten it if that information you have is correct. I know wanting the next best thing and not being able to get it as you should can be a bit frustrating. I’m very sorry for that.
Let me know how that search for a DSC works for you and have a good one!

Thank you.
@ATTCares
Though I purchased my Nexus 6 unlocked through Motorola, it has been using a AT&T sim since day one, taking over management of the device's build/update stream. So I have been receiving regular software updates and security patches up until October 2016. Not sure what has happened since as I've done nothing out of the ordinary with my phone? I have plenty of internal storage available, all-day wifi connectivity, and a full battery.

I just recieved the Nougut update today, NBD91J. Settings say it's now on Android 7.0. Isn't the latest update 7.1.1?

Hi there @GLIMMERMAN76 and @Col4bin
It’s a pleasure as always to hear from both of you! Thanks very much for all of the clarification. As I’m sure you know, we’re only human too so mistakes can be made, but that’s why we have great A.C.E.s and users such as yourselves!
After some deep diving on my own, it looks like the two of you are perfectly on point. Great catch about the 7.0 there Glimmer!
Let me know if you have any other questions and have a good one!
