Phone returned but no credit?

Has anyone else returned a phone in the store and then been told AT&T didn’t receive it?  I have had 6 different conversations via chat and phone and told now twice I would be credited but when I call back they tell me they have no proof of that conversation and that I need to drive 800 miles to the store I turned it into to resolve the issue?  
If you had this issue… how did you resolve it?  
Beyond frustrated and irritated!!

File a BBB complaint to get it escalated to upper management.  Not sure where you live, unless it’s rural Alaska, that you can be 800 miles from a store, but it likely wouldn’t do any good going there anyway.  Hopefully you have a receipt or other proof that you turned the phone in.

When I turned it in, I asked for a receipt.  The man working told me because it was a “next up” I didn’t get a receipt?  Seems super sketchy…right?  They did give me a receipt for the Samsung I turned in 5 minutes before.  I have absolutely no proof except for video footage I am sure the store has.  I should have never left without insisting they give me something. 

Thank you!  BBB is next on my list if AT&T doesn’t resolve it.

They never care! Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with 

I’m in the same boat and couldn’t be more frustrated rn
