Software Update Interrupted message

I like most people have been seeing a message that states "Software Update Interrupted. No Update is available for your device at this time. Please try again in 24 hrs." This issue is directly related to AT&T and Samsung phones. Basically, every single Samsung phone on AT&T has this issue so nothing we can do on our end to fix it. I spoke to an AT&T support a week ago and they told me there is an issue with the towers and Samsung phones but could not give me an ETA on when it will get resolved. Here is a link to the Samsung page where there are over 70 comments of other people dealing with this same issue. Software update interrupted - Samsung Community - 2563628 So my question for AT&T is where are we at with a resolution since it is 100% on your end and not on ours? It is getting ridiculous that this issue has been going on for weeks and even a month for some and no resolution or response from AT&T. Also, this issue did not seem to show up until after updating to the May Security Software update. So, I ask again, when will this issue be resolved and properly allow my phone that is a Samsung Galaxy S22+ to check for software updates?

Hello ShodanWarrior, we're here to help with your Samsung Galaxy S22+.

Try resolving your device's inability to update the software by partitioning the cache of your phone:

  • Power off your phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  • An Installing system update message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  • To scroll to wipe cache partition press the Volume down key.
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight yes. Press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now will be highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

This action delete all system caches stored in the directory and improves performance of your device. Should your inability to update your device persist despite the first action make sure to use Samsung Smart Switch to update you phone from your computer.

Hope this info helps.

Thank you for the response back. Unfortunately, this was not helpful for me since I wipe the cache partition after every update especially the May update. I have done this at least 4-5 times already and like most people, this issue is still present. I am aware of Smart Switch, but since I already have the most current update which is the May update the program says I am up to date. Like I previously said, this issue is happening on MOST AT&T Samsung phones that updated to the May update. For me, the day prior my phone worked fine. Right after updating to May update, I get this error like everyone else. Since the carriers push out the update, there is nothing on our end that seems to fix it and it's getting irritating that no one from AT&T cares to fix this issue or at least give us an ETA. So are you saying that the "Towers" are fixed now or did I get lied to from AT&T customer service? I just did another cache wipe yesterday and shocker the phone is still giving me this error. Either the May update broke the towers or the May update broke our phones and I would greatly appreciate some real answers regarding this issue that most if not all Samsung users on AT&T are dealing with.

How does taking this to Direct Message solve the issue for the rest of us still having this issue?

I agree with you and don't worry about the direct message. I have already been down this road with the direct message last week and all it is is them giving you a number to call them and help over the phone and trust me....NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. They won't even make a case number for you until you do their "5 steps of Diagnostics" which one of them is factory resetting the phone. I even explained to the person that factory resetting does not fix this issue since the issue clearly came from AT&T May update so factory resetting the phone just to re-download the same buggy software will result in the same outcome of this error. I pretty much got the well I don't know what to tell ya response. AT&T does not seem to care to take ownership of their mistake so until then we are all basically stuck with this error since they can't even acknowledge it to begin with.

Update: both mine and my wife's S22 has successfully updated in the last 24 hours and appear to working normally.

However, her Tab S7 is still having the same ongoing issue. Interestingly though, my Tab S7 does not have this issue. We've traced this back to the May update referenced above. She installed that update only to have it attempt to uninstall itself. I was away from home and wifi when it happened so I never attempted to install that update on the Tab S7 thankfully.

Hopefully this is a sign that they'll be pushing out and update for all devices to address this soon.

@Traylen29 Late last night I checked my phone again and surprisingly the June update started to download. I however am still getting the Software update interrupted message after the June update but I am starting to think that this could just be a visual issue since I was still able to grab the update even with this error. Has the error fixed for you or are you still seeing the interrupted message after the June update?

The error is fixed. On both S22's we have a "Current software up to date."

The only device still with that error message is the one Tab S7. It has not seen the June update yet.
