Trade in credits
Has anyone heard of losing trade in promotion if you change your phone number on the device you have? I've been told something different every time I call regarding my monthly trade on credit for the device I returned.

Yes I have heard of losing trade in credits if you change your phone number.
It is advised that you not change your phone number.
If you are being specifically harassed by someone, block all numbers related to that person or persons. If you are concerned about spam, you're not going to alleviate spam by changing your phone number. If anything it makes it worse

I've had the device for 2 years with 36 months of scheduled credits but was told this yesterday for the first time. I went back to read the trade in terms and conditions which stated the number entered on the trade in should match the phone number of the device purchased. That obligation was adhered to during trade in and after the phone was activated. Phone number was just changed last year. All of a sudden, I'm being told this when I'm 23 credits in. It just seemed strange to me. I have read where a lot of people have needed to report some of the suspicious reactions and interactions with AT&T to BBB and FCC.
