upgrading from AT&T Samsung to an AT&T iPhone?
hi all, first time here! a question about upgrading, if I may?
I have an old AT&T Samsung Galaxy Express 3 phone on a no-contract acct. I am taking delivery today on a refurbished AT&T iPhoneXS that I've purchased from Amazon. My question is, is switching from one phone to the other really as simple as pulling the SIM out of the Samsung and putting it into the iPhone? No authorizing or registering or other stuff to do with AT&T?
Or, if it's more complicated, should I take both phones to the AT&T store - woiuld they do the changover for me?
thanks in advance!

If the express 3 has a nano SIM, it's almost that easy. You will still have to contact AT&T to let them know you have switched from Android to iPhone because the data plans are different.
They will ask for the IMEI of your device, so look in the settings of the iPhone and copy down the number so that you can read it off to support. Support. That phone has two SIM, a physical Sim slot and an esim. Make sure you are reading off the correct Sim for the physical slot.
If you have not already created an Apple ID for yourself, that will be part of the activation process. You should immediately create a two-factor authentication for your Apple ID just like you do for your email accounts so that your Apple ID cannot be hacked.

Apple has made it easy to transfer contacts, data and apps from your Galaxy to iPhone. Link below has info on how to perform this action.

hey guys, can't thank you (both) enough! both your solutions were spot on and extremely helpful!
Odd thing though, is that after I had set up the new iOS phone (iPhone Xs) with all of the Android data from my old Samsung, I found that iOS was/is not nearly as "intuitive" an interface as Androind had been. And the ironic thing is that I've been a Mac user (and acolyte!) since '84!!
So, at the end of the day, I've returned the iPhone and am going looking for a new Android that'll work for me!
But again, bot of your responses were *really* helpful...I did the transition from "A" to "B" in about 10-12 minutes!
