AT & T demands I commit fraud and are discriminating

I am currently seeking a law firm to represent me and any other women who are former military who have been required to commit fraud and are the victims of discrimination through AT & T practices.

I am former USAF having joined as an 18-19 year old. I am 62 now and can't get AT & T to honor the military discount offer they make because I've been married and no longer use my maiden name...haven't for 40 years.  Every time I submit my DD214 through the portal as required (with no other way offered) it is rejected because the names dont match. The offered solution?  Change the name on your account to your maiden name.  This smells of fraud and discrimination!!!  Only women who have been married are suffering this ridiculous practice.  I have chat transcripts from multiple reps who offer no alternatives AND I wasted my time contacting IN WRITING the corporate office because I've never gotten a response.

I WILL find other women and we will file suit!!

Read the forum rules. This is not a place for legal discussions.

Unless you can get the USAF to update your DD214, the suggestion to use your maiden name for AT&T was really all customer service could suggest. It's hardly fraud.

This is likely an unusual situation that there isn't an easy solution to, To get to someone who is able to handle more complicated or unusual situations, file a BBB complaint. Someone from the Office of the President will contact you and they should be able to get the discount fixed.

Just former member or are you retired or 100% DAV (Disabled American Vet)? If yes, perhaps an DD 1172-2 from a DEERS/RAPIDS ID Card office might help with it confirming name has changed per marriage.

They should have an option to account for name change. If needed, file a BBB complaint as that forwards the issue to their upper management/corporate (Office of the President)  which should result in contact within a few business days.

It's not AT&T's fault You haven't updated your DD 214 with the VA

https://www.va.gov/resources/how-to-change-your-legal-name-on-file-with-va/

https://www.servicememberscivilreliefact.com/blog/how-to-update-dd214-after-discharge/#:~:text=If%20you%20wish%20to%20update,to%20complete%20a%20DD%2D149.

Does this mean you are continuing to get your checks and your insurance, and your medical in a name that is not legally yours due to marriage?
