Military discount

What kind of torture is this that I should be punished for my name being changed.   I was in the Air Force.   My separation was December 1979.  My name has changed in the last 43 years.  Because my DD214 has my married name I’m told that my discount cannot be given.  I divorced after I got out and took back my maiden name.  I am still a veteran!   Customer service says I need to go to the Att store and have them change my name in the system back to My married name so I can get my discount!!!  And then later go back and have it changed back but I don’t have to…I can keep it my old married name!!!   I don’t want to keep my old married name from 1979!  This sounds like discrimination against women because men don’t get their names changed.

Thank you so much for your military service, !

We're here to help. Before signing up for the military appreciation offer, there are qualifications you must meet. Then you can sign up via online or at a corporate AT&T Store. If you're running into trouble while doing so, we recommend applying at a AT&T Corporate Store. They'll be able to guide you through the best way to get your discount applied as you rightly deserve it.

Check out the list of requirements below:

  • A valid military ID or current pay stub (active military)
  • Department of Defense form DD214, Veteran ID Card (VIC), or Veteran-noted driver’s license (veterans)
  • Department of Defense sponsorship card (spouses, widows, and widowers)
  • An AT&T Unlimited Elite, AT&T Unlimited Extra, AT&T Unlimited Starter, or older unlimited plan
  • And are the primary account holder

We hope we were able to share helpful information and please let us know if you have questions. Thank you for connecting with the AT&T Community!
