Not honoring military discount

My husband has been to the store twice with his documentation (DD214 and Health card). First time the rep didn’t enter the discount and now the second rep entered it as active military instead of Veteran. We’re getting emails saying the discount won’t be applied unless he verifies employment. Online reps won’t accept the DD214  or Health card for eligibility, says it has to be done in store but can’t get the store to correct it either. It’s an authorized dealer store, not corporate. I can’t locate a corporate store near us. Been dealing with this for 2 weeks, ever since we purchased the phones. I’ve spent countless hours with online agents, 3 hours today alone along with transfers to six different agents. We’re beyond frustrated. Refuse to pay Veterans Advantage every month just to get this discount processed when a DD214 is acceptable eligibility at the store.

That’s your problem. It needs to be a corporate store. Unfortunately, the dd214 is not a document accepted online. Where do you live, perhaps someone here can help locate the nearest corporate store.

Such a not so helpful response. I guess it is my problem but that’s why I posted for help. It’s going to be AT&T’s problem with the BBB if they don’t correct it. Nowhere have I seen  that you can only get this discount via a corporate store. What would be helpful is a list differentiating the corporate from the resellers. Storefront we purchased from is AT&T. Representative told us my husband qualified for the discount. It’s not being honored. Why is that “my” problem?

I never said it was your problem. I'm suggesting a way to fix it, take your documentation to a corporate store. Sorry you find that unhelpful. I got my military discount by going to a corporate store, no problem. I know for a fact a corporate store can and will fix it. I never said only a corporate store can apply the discount but obviously the authorized retail store you are dealing with can't get it right. Go ahead and file the BBB complaint, that may get it fixed too.
