FirstNet Fishy Details

I am a FirstNet customer. Last month I purchased an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and was told that I would get a $300 discount on the device for being a first responder. I was also told that the device was included in my plan and that there would no additional charge. I was told I could pay off the device when the first billing cycle came since I wanted to pay in full. Well when this months bill came up to my surprise it was a lot higher than expected. There was indeed a monthly charge for the watch service that I was lied to about. Also device showed the payment plan for the full amount of the device. Turns out, the “$300 off” comes off the payment plan as $9 a month…. And it too pay off the device I have to pay the full device amount and not the price with the discount. It’s sad that a phone service made for first responders would pull this scam. Be aware

The terms are posted online. Cellular providers are not just going to give you a huge discount in one lump sum on equipment so you can pay off the device and go somewhere else.

So that gives the representatives a right to share false information with the customer? Struggling to see your point.

You should have been given correct information. Absolutely agree with you on that..

But if you believe that valuable items are free rather than " free " with a catch, I have a bridge in Brooklyn for you - cheap

Universally, service providers do not give away free devices without a service obligation and the service obligation is not free.

Devices themselves are $300 off with bill credits.  If you choose to pay off the device, you may do so at the full retail cost less whatever you have paid so far in installments. Then you can cancel the line.   The device will work fine on Bluetooth connected to your device within range

You should have been given the correct information but you should also always do your own research. My point is always do your research, 🧐
