NumberSync stopped working with SMS messages

After the recent (October 2023) Galaxy Wearable app update on my S22 Ultra, my SMS messages are not coming up on my Galaxy Watch 5. I even went as far clearing my Google account and doing factory reset on my watch. Everything worked again until Galaxy Wearable app updated again. Phone calls and emails seem to come through fine.

Numbersync is a garbage program.  Especially for Android. AT&T should have reprogrammed or dumped this absolute piece of garbage years ago.

Verizon number share works flawlessly.

What you might try after factory resetting to watch again is changing the password to your phone line user ID. Wait at least 15 minutes, then set the watch up again.

Learn how to use Samsung Smart Things to connect to, and control a wide range of devices.

 

Please give these steps a try: 

 

To sync your watch with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, you will need to :

  1. Go to Samsung Health, click on the 3 dots in the top right hand corner.
  2. Go to settings, then click on 'Sync with Samsung Account' (not the green slide button but the actual words).
  3. Turn off 'sync only with Wi-Fi'.
  4. Connect your smart watch to your phone using the Galaxy Wearable app.
  5. If your phone isn't available, you can also set up your watch without a phone and pair it with the Galaxy Wearable app later.
  6. Call your network to add an eSIM to your contract for the watch (at a cost).
  7. Add the eSIM to your watch using the Wearable app.
  8. Both devices must be joined the same account on your network.
  9. Depending on your network the capabilities of the second device will be more or less independent.

Note: To access Samsung SmartThings, you must first be signed into your Samsung account. If you have not already signed into your Samsung account, select Sign in upon initial access of Samsung SmartThings. Enter your account information, then review the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy as desired.

 

Add a device to Samsung SmartThings (from the Device tab, select Add device, then the desired available device or add a device manually by selecting the corresponding device type then follow the prompts to complete set up).

Hello.

These answers do not address the issue. Galaxy Wearable is not sending SMS Messages to my Galaxy Watch when connecting through ATT NumberSync. Emails and calls still come through.

Hi @acdavies1, we apologize for the inconvenience, and we understand the importance of receiving SMS messages, let's get you the help you need. 

 

If you have not tried, please give these steps a try: 

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable or Galaxy Watch app on your phone.
  2. Select Watch Settings.
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. If it's off, select the Messages toggle to turn it on.
  5. Select < (in the upper left).
  6. Your watch is now set up to receive text messages and notifications.

If you are still having trouble receiving text messages, you can try the following :

  • Uninstall Galaxy Wear app from phone and reinstall.

I am reinstalling Galaxy Wear, but that was working fine with SMS messages without NumberSync. The SMS messages quit coming across AFTER I turned on NumberSync.
