NumberSync Unavailable on Active2

I purchased a galaxy watch active 2, and from day one it has not been able to display a sync code to connect with numbersync. It connects as an added line on the at&t network just fine (unfortunately i can only call and text as a different number).

When I go into the NUmberSync options on my phone, and click "Get Sync Code," nothing happens, or accassionally it will spin and spin until a message pops up saying "NumberSync is currently unavailable."

I put in about 3 hours with 3 different at&t tech support agents over the phone as well as a samsung tech support person over the phone (who said it was an at&t issue), and spent two and a half hours in an at&t store with four different agents who couldn't figure it out. They blamed numbersync and told me to wait a couple days. Still couldn't generate a code so I called at&t tech support again and they told me my device was defective and they canceled the $10 line fee that they were going to charge me. So I replaced it and brought my new one to a different at&t store. Still having the same issue - it won't display a sync code. In fact, one of the agents tried connecting my new active2 to other phones in the store to see if it was an issue with my phone, but numbersync wouldn't work on those phones either!

My guess is you bought the unlocked version somewhere else?

Yes it's unlocked. This one is from Walmart. Do you think that makes a difference? I can't find any information that says that would be the case.

It did with the galaxy watch.  The watch has to download numbersync to it to work.  Now Samsung is not selling a different model on Samsung.com

Also having this issue. Purchased at Best Buy. No one asked about Mobile carrier. Took it to ATT and they activated it but could not get numbersync to work. Get a message that says its unavailable.

I don't have any answers. and do not know the step by step way to get it done. just played with it and went to the att store twice and now it is working. And it does seem that even now after turning off and on (just started wearing it) and that i have to settings -> connections -> numbersync -> on each time. After turning numbersync on it spins for about 1 minute but then it gives me a message that numbersync was turned on.

I bought an unlocked Active2 from Best Buy one week ago. Went to At&T store to get it activated on the 23rd and 24th.

i will say that att servers were having issues on christmas day. probably one of the busiest days of the year with new gadgets everyone is trying to setup. So try again now.

i already had a gear watch so i had the Samsung Wearable app installed on my phone and already had all my email accounts setup. Yes email works.

Took two visits to the store to get it working. I do not remember all the steps. I will just babble on about some of the gotchas that i faced.

both visits the first pairing of phone and watch seemed to get stuck. turned off and on the phone and this fixed it both times.

Now my at&t account has several lines and mine is not the primary phone number. so after the first syncing, it synced the watch with the primary phone number which was not my phone. I could see on my phone, on the ATT screen that it paired with the wrong phone. (odd that it does not show the phone and the watch on the ATT scynced screen, just the phone.) Then remembered that when i first numbersynced the gear many years ago that i had to get my own att account with just my phone number for the number sync with the used. so used my personal att account and then it seemed to sync ok.

Had issue with the code that the watch generated. Once it generated the code if everything was not completed correctly, it seemed like the watch generated the same code again and then the ATT account would reject it. believe that we factory reset the watch to get a new sync code.

had another issue with the code the watch generated in that after i logged onto my personal att account on the phone and it synced up the watch and my phone that the watch screen still had the code, a count down timer, and CANCEL. there was no OK, Complete, etc button. So first time I just let the watch count down because i was scared to CANCEL. Not sure what is the fix for this issue. or if just letting it count down worked.

it might help to have your phone wifi turned on? i know that the watch is communicating with the phone via bluetooth, but when you are signing on to the att account on your phone i think a good wifi connection might help. i only had a data connection.

Having the same problem! I actually purchased my watch straight from ATT store of course they were sold out in store but got it delivered. Brand new watch. That didn't matter as I am still struggling to get it to sync and I am also getting that message"NumberSync not available". So I just paid more and added data plan to something I can't even use for its purpose. I should of just gotten an older model to just worry about it working via bluetooth. ATT techs have told me they have a programming bug problem on their end which doesn't permit the watch to sync properly. So take the watch back, ATT.

@ketonez We have two of them and have the same issue. No one can tell us why. I love the watch but I'm not paying for a mobile service when it won't work. At this point, I suspect, for us, that it has to do with the fact that numbersync is not installed on my phone even though it is a supported phone....that's my theory but...it's just a guess. :(
