NumberSync - Wearable Device Limit

We have dozens of Galaxy Watch6's in a standalone use case. They only need to be paired with a phone so the Galaxy Wearable app can download the eSIM profile and send it to the watch.

NumberSync has a limit of 6 wearables per account. We'd like to be able to activate larger numbers of watches with a single phone. We're not using NumberSync in our use case.

Is there a way to get around the six-wearable limit? If NumberSync were to be blocked, would that also remove the restriction?

Thank you!

Hello! We hear you, and let's get the information you are looking for.

To answer your question, we would like to inform you that with the number sync, you can connect maximum of 6 devices, and we do not have an option to make changes towards the limit.

In addition, yes, you can connect wearables with the device even without the number sync.

However, you can only have one watch active at a time. It will switch based on which one you're wearing.

Note: The auto-detect feature doesn't always work, so you'll need to manually trigger it sometimes.

Here's the link to check more information on Number Sync for wearables

Kelly,

Thank you for letting me know the device limit in Number Sync can't be changed. Is there a means of turning off or blocking NumberSync on the phone/s we are using for watch activations?

We use the phone to activate the eSIM on the watches. Once the watch is activated, we want to end the pairing relationship between the phone and the watch.

Another way to put it, NumberSync is on the phone's account by default. We'd like to opt-out of NumberSync since the watches aren't in a dependent relationship with the phone beyond the eSIM activation.

Thank you again!

Hello! We’re glad to hear from you.

We see you have other clarifications regarding the wearables, so let's share the information you are looking for.

Yes, you can block NumberSync for wearables. However, you'll not be able to use the cellular data once you block the NumberSync feature.

Note: The billing account owner and authorized users on the account can block access to Number Sync for wearables. If a block is in place, the user of the smartphone number trying to sync with a wearable smartwatch will receive a message indicating the number has been blocked.

NumberSync can be disabled from your online account. All you need to do is log into your myAT&T account, scroll down to Wireless, then check for Plans, features, and upgrades>View my plans and features and after Manage>view or change. You should be able to remove your number from there.

Hope this information helps!
