NymberSync two watches to two numbers

Sorry if this has already been answered, but there was a lot to dig through to try and find the answer. Recently my girlfriend and I combined our cell phone plans.  In the recent promotion, we picked up two Gear S2's.  What sold us on adding them to our account was that we were told we could NumberSync each watch to our phones.  I managed to get my Gear synced last night to my phone number, which is the primary on the account.  We couldn't get her Gear to sync to her number at all.  Is it even possible to sync her Gear to her phone number? In our account when I click on her phone and click on Manage NumberSync it keeps telling me that her number is not the primary on the account.

Thanks.

Hello @agausmann !

I will be happy to help! Numbersync is definitely a super cool feature, it would have sold me to! I have the Gear S2 myself and I love it!

Your wife can totally sync her Gear to her phone number! She will just want to create another Access ID (to have her number be the primary on). There can only be one Numbersync connected per Access ID.

Check out our support article Create your AT&T Access ID for specific instructions. Once here, select Learn how to create your Access ID and link an account. This will provide instructions on how to gain secondary access when an account already has another ID.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day!

Once I click on the link what AT&T number am I listing? My cell or my GearS2?

After I log in to my already established account, what next?

There are a few steps after clicking on the link that are ambiguous. Are you able to provide clear step by step instructions for this particular process? Thanks

Hi @saluki19,

You definitely came to the right place looking for answers.  I’ve worked with NumberSync many times in the past, so I can help figure this out

Are you having issues creating an Access ID?  If so, you’re going to want to enter your cell phone number when creating it.  You then will be prompted to create an ID and password.  After this is done, you’ll be taken to a confirmation page to make sure everything matches up.

You can only have one Access ID per phone number.  Once you create this, you’ll be able to use it to setup NumberSync.  There are detailed steps on this page, which will walk you through how to set it up.

I hope this helps! Please, let me know if you need any additional assistance.

Hi Larry,

I followed the steps and this is what I received when I put in my cell number and zip code:

Account registered
Looks like the person whose name is on the bill already created a user ID.

What do you want to do?

I wanted to continue but "continue" was grayed out and didn't allow me. What should I do now?

Good morning @saluki19!

Thank you for keeping us updated. It will be my pleasure to continue assisting!

When creating an Access ID for your wireless number, make sure it is for the line you are trying to use with NumberSync. If a User ID already exists for this specific line, you can try resetting it to gain access. Please click on this link and follow the steps to complete the process.

If you continue having issues, please don’t hesitate to send us a private message to @ATTMobilityCare with your full name, phone number and a good time to contact you. This way I can personally help you with the process.

Have a wonderful day!

I know its been awhile since you've asked this question but this is for anyone else who needs a clear answer on this. Go to your myatt app or sign in online at att.com go to your profile then send a request for a secondary user. This will send an email or text message to the person youre granting Secondary user access. When they get the email or text set up a access Id, it'll walk you through the steps. Once that's done use number youre trying to sync to the watch you will get a one time code... the account has now been linked created and verified. Now go back to the watch under connections and select number sync, you won't login under the account holders email and pass you'll now use the brand new access ID you set up. Now youre watch and phone is linked, pour yourself a strong drink.
