Problem with the website IMEI detection BYOD
I put in the IMEI of a device on the BYOD page and it says device not compatible with AT&T network. It's a Samsung SM-805U watch and when I call into AT&T they say the device is compatible with the AT&T network. Cricket, Tmobile, Verizon all say the device is compatible but the AT&T website says it's not. This issue needs to be fixed.

SmartWatches are region locked. What that means is if you have a smartwatch made for North America It should work on any US carrier. If your smartwatch was made for Europe or Asia it would not work on a US carrier.
Unless the smartwatch is some funky off-brand, which would be region locked to Europe or Asia, there's no reason any smartwatch would not work on AT&T, Verizon or t-mo.
Cricket does not allow smartwatches so I can't imagine why the IMEI would pass crickets check. Cricket like many prepaid carriers does not accept smartwatches. AT&T prepaid does not accept smartwatches. Smartwatches are only permitted on postpaid on all three major carriers. Visible allows watches.

Hello, goku2, we'd be more than happy to address your SM-805U smart-watch being our compatibility list.
Special thanks to our ACE, formerlyknownas, for their expertise.
Our first recommendation would to view our list of compatible smart-watches that work on our network.
If you scroll down to the wearables section, you can see that your watch is the Gear S4 (SM-R805U), which is on that list.
Our second recommendation would be to use this resource to perform a software update on the watch.
Just simply scroll to where it says, System, then select Software update.
Please let us know if this helps. If not, we can continue offering further technical support. Thanks so much for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

No it does not help. I already know it's on the list and a software update would not help if the issue is with the AT&T website not properly detecting the device as compatible with the AT&T network. I need the website to work as activating the watch over the phone will not suffice.

We understand the importance and urgency with making sure your Samsung watch works on our network, goku2.
This is not the experience we want you to have, and we want to step in to help. Let's meet in a Direct Message on this together, so we perform some troubleshooting on our end, submit a tech escalation and work towards a solid resolution. Please check your Direct Message inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums). Once that's done, we can continue the interaction over the phone or through direct messages, whichever works best for you.
We look forward to resolving your issue. Thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

I think AT&T is having issues with wearables and the BYOD device portal page. I just tried 3 different smartwatches that were sold by AT&T in the past on their IMEI checker page and all were given an error message that they were devices that weren't compatible with the AT&T network yet calling AT&T technical support confirms that they indeed are compatible with AT&T network.

are you trying to use them on post paid or prepaid? They won't work on prepaid and when you go for activation it should be done on the gear app for a Samsung watch

How far in the past? AT&T sold 3G watches which can no longer be used on AT&T. They would be Bluetooth only.
AT&t's IMEI check for phones and tablets wood kick up an error message on a watch.
First net does not permit older watches

Good point. The prepaid BYOD accepts tablets and phones. No smart watches on prepaid

Postpaid, using the Postpaid BYOD IMEI check portal. Also these are all VOLTE smartwatches I tested and are on the approved list per that pdf that is circulating.
