Samsung Galaxy 5 lte watch international version
Hi,
Will a Samsung Galaxy 5 lte watch work in Mexico if we have an AT&T plan? We currently have a AT&T plan and we have a Nord N30 phone which is internal version which works fine so could a Samsung watch lte international version be added to the plan? We also would like a different phone number.
Thanks,
Chip

Sorry, International versions of Samsung watches are region locked. They will only work as a Bluetooth device in North America. In order to have a watch work in Mexico USA and Canada would have to be in North American version.
As for the phone, you can check the IMEI to see if it will work on AT&T. And this is AT&T USA not AT&T Mexico which may accept different phones

Not sure what you mean by a different phone number? Every device with cellular service gets its own phone number for billing. In the case of smartwatches, it doesn't mean the device will necessarily work independently with that phone number as a standalone.

Thanks for your reply.
I want to purchase a Samsung Galaxy5 watch for health reasons, to track my afib and for falling down alerts. We live on our boat most of the year in Mexico. I was hoping to not need a phone for this purpose. My wife Carrie's our phone with dual sims and AT&T and TelCel as our providers. So I was hoping the watch with LTE would work in Mexico. Guess not.
I have not seen a North American version or Unlocked or International one. Have seen a international version for the galaxy 4 watch. So it looks as though I would need to purchase a Samsung phone and the watch with bluetooth and carry both.
The phone number we wanted to be a separate number from the one we currently have on our AT&T account but that is only confusing an already confusing issue.
Thanks,

There's no reason you can't purchase the watch five, the watch six is already out. But there's a difference in cellular bands between a North American/ US version and international version.
