AT&T refuses to unlock replacement phones when originals were already unlocked.

Having an ongoing disbut with AT&T. Last year I unlocked both my Lumia 920's under their unlock plan so I could use them on my trip overseas. Around 6 months later, both phones had to be replaced under warranty because of hardware problems.

Recently I travelled overseas and found out I couldn't use the new phones because they were locked to AT&T. So basically they replaced both my unlocked phones with locked phones!

So I called them up, and was told they cannot unlock the phones because I am still under contract, and will therefor have to pay an early termination fee.

What's up with this AT&T? How does this even make sense!

And also, I have called AT&T numerous times and explained the fact that they should never have sent me a locked phone as a replacement for an unlocked phone (reduced funtionality), however so far they have been completely unreasonable.

The policy on unlocking phones has changed. You can try to send a private message to AT&T customer care using the link below.
