Canceling a Line

I have 2 lines on my account. The second line is my grandson but he’s deciding to get his own phone service. I want to cancel his line but I don’t know how much the fees will be. I know he thought about upgrading but to pay it off I owe $325. So if I cancel his line will I have to pay the 325 upfront or will I still continue to make payments like I already do. Also what are the fees for canceling another line. This is for Next 30 Installment Plan.

Yes, if you cancel the line you owe the balance on the phone (lump sum )

.  If you transfer billing responsibility to him, he will be responsible for the balance.  The installments will continue if he starts his own ATT Account.  If he leaves ATT or goes to prepaid you get stuck with the bill.

If you cancel his line, the balance of what you owe on the phone will be due. You do not continue making payments.  Also, if he wants to keep his number, do not cancel the line because he will lose the number. If he wants to keep his number he needs to port it to the new service. Porting the number will cause it to cancel on your plan.
