Firstnet Military Suspension
I’ve been getting the run around trying to put my suspend my firstnet account for a military deployment and hold my number. I sent in a request with orders to the ATT email and it said to do a form at
http://www.att.com/offers/military-cancel-service but when I try that it won’t work because I’m firstnet and not ATT and I can’t create a account. I’m stuck and I deploy tomorrow and I’ve called customer service and they aren’t any help. I won’t have a phone overseas cause my phone is locked to firstnet and I can’t put in a foreign sim

Did you submit an unlock request based on being active duty military? There is a space at the bottom of the request form for you to Mark if you are military. You do not have to cancel or suspend service or pay off your phone in order to unlock it if you are active duty military.
The only other suggestion I have is to call 611, use the keywords cancel service. This should send you to the loyalty department. They should know something.
This is the first time this particular problem has come up. Primarily people use firstnet when they are First Responders inside the United States. This is the first time I've seen someone on firstnet who was military and set to deploy.
I'll see if I can rattle a cage for you

Try the email address here for military-specific support: https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1046235

I've sent up a flare, contact person would be in Texas which is either 2 or 3 hours behind which means they'll be just getting into work.
If there's nothing through firstnet the only other thing that comes to mind is going to a corporate store and having yourself switched to regular AT&T service, putting yourself on auto pay, and then immediately canceling through the military option.
But that seems cumbersome and idiotic. Fingers crossed

Firstnet support number.
That first link is useless as it asks for AT&T info, doesn't recognize firstnet or prepaid.
Do not use the online request! Use the emails near the bottom.

@MicCheck i tried that email, sent them my orders and everything on the 2nd. Got an automatic reply back same day but nothing has happened. I called support and they were less than helpful.

Have you gone through the portal to unlock your phone and check the box that says you're military?

@formerlyknownas I’m national guard and a first responder. I submitted the unlock request but of course need to do the whole military suspension and number hold. Don’t want to pay for service in another country for my phone and Apple Watch when I can’t even use them. Save that $

I hate firsts... Such a learning curve
@zbsmith
It's not suspension.
It is military cancellation with your number held for 39 months. Firstnet is typically dealing with domestic First Responders. As a National Guard member you are both domestic first responder and an active duty military who can be deployed overseas. You fall right in a crack in the system.

@formerlyknownas just used the portal. Got an automatic email requesting my TCS orders and sent that. Fingers crossed. Want to be able to buy a sim overseas and pop it in my phone and it work. I’m literally sitting in the El Paso airport right now waiting for my flight
