Most disrespectful experience

For anyone considering switching to or signing up with at&t I would recommend reading your contract carefully. Here's what I found out today:

1. at&t doesn't guarantee coverage - if you sign a contract and you don't get service at home, sucks to be you

2. at&t gives a 14 day return period from your initial contract date - if you move or go to college or whatever you're locked into a contract that doesn't guarantee service

3. there's nothing you can do except spend more money - either pay for more products that they don't guarantee will help, or pay the early termination fee and get out of your contract.

In summary, unless you plan on leading the same exact lifestyle you have now for the rest of your life at&t is not a good option for you.

I travel for work and this has been a nightmare, I've had to buy pay as you go phones for some trips just to get my work done. And yes, that's on top of what I'm already paying at&t for service.

The best part is, I finally went 2 miles away from my house and called to ask them what can be done. They literally yelled at me, I spent 40 minutes on the phone with a girl named "Candy" and no joke, I told her I didn't think it was right for me to pay additional costs for their lack of service and she spent 20 minutes yelling at me about how that was my only option and that she couldn't transfer me to anyone else and that I had no choice but to pay extra on the phone with her at that moment.

I'm just going to cut all my services to the minimum and wait out this contract, it's a lot cheaper than any alternative she gave me. My parents have Verizon now and love it so might as well hop on a plan with them.

Good luck to everyone else, and if you decide to go with at&t, please just know what you're getting into.

If you are considering any other provider, guess what, they don't guarantee service either. They also have a return policy. They all have early termination fees if you are in contract.

That is industry standard.

I get that but you can purchase a wireless service without a contract now days, it isn't 1990 anymore.
And who knows maybe their customer service will actually provide service.

Yup. But Verizon doesn't charge you extra for a microcell.

Unless you go with T-mobile these days, all cell phone providers have the same plan but it's how much they charge for each of their additional services that vary. Some are more dedicated to user retention while other, well aren't.

If I could do it again I would never have signed up with AT&T, so I'm just passing that along to anyone looking to see what's out there.
