Need to add an AT&T prepaid account from California to my post paid account in New jersey.
Hi,
I need to add my friend's prepaid account number (california att number) to my postpaid account. I was told to do this in a corporate store. The store was not able to add the number saying that the number was from a different market. I am added as an authorized user on the prepaid account too. I want to keep the number the same.
Please advise.
The store i visited was in the Newport mall in jersey city.
I have seen other threads saying this was possible.

I know it’s possible because I ported in my daughter’s number to my account which was from a different market. The corporate store I did it at took a long time to figure out how to do it but they finally did. Perhaps the added issue of also moving from prepaid to postpaid has that store stumped. The only thing I can suggest is try a different store.

I have tried 2 corporate stores. The first one thought that it was a system issue that didn't allow them to look up the account. Do you happen to know if they need special permission/privileges to do the transfer ?
