No Internet access or a chat person available

I have had no Internet access on August 14, December 13,17,21,23,and 25 of 2018 so far.... There may have been more days but these are the dates I charted down because it became so noticeable.

The Hotspot is lit up green and it appears wifi is working, it says I have wifi, but I am not linked to the internet!

I have a HOTSPOT device that has a wifi phone with it and internet access. Internet is most important to me, it's my link to the outside world.

I tried to chat with an AT&T person but the chat button must have disappeared! It sends me in a loop system and never gets me any help. In the end I messaged AT&T on Facebook because on my personal billing page there is no chat button to be found which was there in the past.

I was given a link, which did not work, and I had only 30 minutes to connect to it. Well, try doing that when you get the message much later due not having internet access. I finally called when I did have wifi phone access and that person came up with all kinds of tips which were of no help at all. (Unplug the device at least once a week to reset it etc etc.)  I never know how long I will have internet connection, minutes or hours or nothing at all from day to day. Skyping is nearly impossible because connection is too slow and then you loose it all together.

I see a lot of people reporting but no one has any resolve.... What is up with AT&T and their customer service??  Why aren't they fixing this connectivity issue?? I am paying for a crappy 2 year contract internet service and I am paying for a Netflix subscription that I cannot watch.

The first 6.5 months worked great and after that it went downhill from there. There are several other families in my area that have the same problems. One family has been without service straight for 2 weeks!  It would be nice if AT&T send a letter to the customers in the problem areas explaining WHAT the PROBLEM is and issue refunds of the days lost! Communication goes a long way!

Telling me that I may not have set up my Hotspot box properly is silly because if that was the case it would not have worked perfectly fine the first 6.5 months.

When I Google 'AT&T outages', I can report outages and from the looks of it there are thousands of people complaining all the way from TX, OK, KS up North.

This internet accessibility is worse than in a 'third world country', at least they do have consistent internet access.

AT&T, please respond and fix this internet connection issue!

Hello, @grotemuis,

We understand how necessary a good internet connection can be. Let's take a look and see if we can learn what the cause is and what can be done to fix it.

We are sending you a private message (PM) to help in this matter. Please check your forums private messages by clicking the Forums Inbox. Locate the PM from ATTCares and reply to the message with your specific account details.
