Online order-new customer

I just placed my order online, and the order is processing. Once it ships and gets here what happens? Does it come activated or do I activate from home,or do I have to go into at&t store? We got 2 iphone 5s' with a 2year agreement. All I had to pay was for the price of our phones, and it said our monthly bill would be $134 plus on our first bill the activation fee. Does this mean I got lucky and didn't have to put down a deposit or it would've told me before letting me order phones?? Thank you in advance!!

The phones will come with sim cards, turn on and follow the iPhone instructions to set it up. It you are porting a number you might need to call to finish porting, otherwise phones will be active. A deposit if required would of been taken at time of order, so no worries there. Enjoy your new iPhones and welcome to AT&T.

Did you receive your phones Sheesha? I ordered mine on Friday and was told they would be here Monday and I still don't even have a tracking number at 9:38 on Monday night!

I just wanted to make sure you know to activated Insurance on your new device. I found out it is no longer an option to choose insurance online or via a sales rep over the phone. You will have thirty days to opt for it there after you are screwed. I bought at least 5 smart phones from AT&T over the last 8 years and always got insurance. I requested with a phone I placed last September and three months later it was stolen. I called to report it and have a replacement sent out, however there was no record of it. Since January I have spoke with many AT&T customer service reps and it seems the system kicks the insurance i opted for online off due to the new way they want their customers to opt for insurance. Believe it or not there was no indication or insert explaining this protocol to me. I am still talking with them regarding my experience in hopes of resolving this matter. Mean while I am paying for a stolen phone I do not have and a new line I order just to have a physical phone. It has insurance. As a customer of AT&T for over 20 years I can not imagine going anywhere else for phone service. I know after what has happen to me you would think I would l find another carrier. I can only hope they will do the right thing for me. Enjoy your new device.
