Phone issues, poor customer service

My husband has been an at&t customer for 20+ years. Since the breach in February pur phones have been off, his more than mine. After months of his phone randomly being unable to call out or receive call and texts at times as well, he finally decided to call at&t. We have a toddler with a disability and our phones need to be working! After being on the phone for over an hour they finally decided to send him a new phone. He let them know he does have a small hairline Crack in his screen. The representatives assured him it was not an issue unless the entire screen was shattered or the back of phone. They were not so when the replacement came in he sent the old phone back. Today he gets a package fr at&t. It's his old phone with a note saying his account has been charged over $1000 and he can keep both phones due to this thin crack in the screen the he told them about already beforehand! So if they can fix the issue and make it right we will be closing the account with at&t!

There was no breach in February. If you are referring to the outage at the end of February that had nothing to do with a breach.

The breach that has been  mentioned in the national news happened in June of 2019.  It was not uncovered until April of 2024 when the hacker made his possession of this information known.

After being on the phone for over an hour they finally decided to send him a new phone. He let them know he does have a small hairline Crack in his screen. The representatives assured him it was not an issue unless the entire screen was shattered or the back of phone.

If This was a warranty claim, the phone has to be in pristine condition. Any physical damage or water intrusion voids the warranty and you would be charged for the replacement phone.   If you were told different, the information was incorrect.

This is not how you reach AT&T. If you want to take up your complaint with them you have to do so by contacting them directly. This forum is strictly customer  to customer.  The only response from AT&T here is to contact them directly using call or chat. You will find the contact us link at the bottom of this webpage
