Spouse Died - Need to Change Account to Surviving Spouse's Name

Hello,  My elderly aunt requires assistance.  Her husband had an ATT mobile account/number that she has continued to use/pay for since he passed away.  However, when she had an issue about a double payment - they refused to speak with her about the account because it was not in her name.  

QUESTION:  how do we get the account switched to her name (she needs to keep this number).  

Any response is appreciated.

Has to provide proof that her spouse has passed away. They will close  his line and his account.  

She can return phone, or pay off phone. AT&T no longer waves payments. Any remaining bill would be the responsibility of the estate. 

They will transfer her phone line into her name only

She just HAS to keep the same number (because family knows that number) can she close the old account AND keep her husband’s number?

Her options are pretty much explained in the link that @formerlyknownas provided.  She has to do a TOBR to transfer the line to her account.
