Switch from prepaid to friend's existing postpaid account

Hi,

 

I want to switch from my prepaid plan to my friend's AT&T Next postpaid account. I wanna do so with my phone and my same number. I contacted the customer care and I got the response saying the postaid account holder (i.e my friend)  has to be present at the store to add my number and device to the plan. But the problem is that my friend lives in a different state and so he is not able to add me to his account. How should I deal with this? Any help appreciated..!!!!

Hi @manoj9186 

 

Only the primary account holder can add new lines to their account, so your friend has to do it. One option I can think of is for you to go ahead and switch your number to a post paid account in your name, then you can authorize a transfer of billing responsibility online and your friend can transfer it over to his account. Is your number in the same area code as his?
