Arris BGW210-700 2.4 Ghz slow speeds
Hi we have just had a new Arris BGW 210-700 installed yesterday via AT&T field tech. Out-of-the-box the 2.4 and 5 ghz are enabled and it should broadcast wi-fi with no issues. Well, it seems all the wi-fi devices connected to the 2.4 are extremely slow when the 5 ghz devices are at normal speeds. Hard-wired devices are normal speed when conducting a speed test. I can't seem to fathom why this is happening or what else to change in the settings that I haven't already addressed, ie wi-fi channel switching, increased bandwidth from 20 mhz to 40 mhz. factory restore. Can anyone offer other solutions?

An important piece of information is this Arris BGW210-700 is a replacement of an Arris BGW210-700 we had been using since April 2017 with no wifi issues. Not sure why the 2.4 Ghz speeds are greatly reduced on same model. Additionally, there is one Windows 10 laptop that auto connects to the 5 Ghz performing fine with no speed issues as 2 other Windows laptops connecting to the 2.4

Hi.Not sure if you still need help but in case some advice on the BGW-210: It uses a process called “band steering” which basically adjusts the bandwidth used (2.5 and 5 GHz)automatically to get the best WiFi signal for your particular set up. However for it to do this the 2.5 and 5 GHz settings must be identical meaning same SSIDs ,same passwords ,and same channel and power settings.By default its automatically like that and should be kept that way you will see much better performance
