AT&T fiber equipment down in alley

There was an internet outage in 75232 area on 4/29/2024 at around 4:00pm and then the outage was cleared today 5/31 however my internet is out and the customer service have no idea what is going on.  I had a service tech come out because I had submitted a request prior to knowing it was an outage.  Tech came out and discovered the lines were cut and a big black box is on the ground and all the lines are spliced and dangling.  Someone from ATT is supposed to come out to fix the line but they have not and the big black box and lines are still dangling and the entire side of the street has no internet.  Again there is no one at customer service who knows anything or can help you.  here are the pictures of the equipment . I will get them later as my iphone still loading the pics.

Where's the cable go? To a pole? I can't make out if the "black box" on the ground is a pole mounted terminal or something else. The box on the pole is an NID for someone or something. Now I see the broken strand, so that's why everything is laying on the ground. That took something big to take that strand down.

Can't answer that from Nebraska. If the strand was pulled down than a new one would have to be placed and the cable restrung to restore service beyond that point. You're our eyes, we have no idea where the cable goes or where the span was broken. Also, they are probably going to have to contract it out, I don't know as they even have construction crews anymore.

Black case (box) appears to be a splice case based on the double cables on (1) side. It also looks like a steel twisted strand hanging on the left of Pole #xx29. The NID makes no sense in this alley context.

@ZilB are there any power or Cable TV lines strung between poles where the lines are down by the fence? Have you reported the lines down or are you just calling about an outage. Here are the basic steps to report down lines since you now know where they are down.

Call Anytime at 800.288.2020.

  • Have AT&T service? Provide your account info and say, Line is down.
  • Don’t have AT&T service? Say No account. When asked if you want to order new service, say No. Then, to let us know why you're calling, say Line is down

ETA: still learning to spell...

The 1-800-288-2020 CSR reps are not going to have details down to your Alley. Do you have aerial lines and equipment is down from the pole?

Yes your pictures will help.
