Port Forwarding for VRising not working.

I've set up a VRising server on a laptop before I moved. All was working.

Now I've moved and got AT&T Fiber, I tried to port forward so I can continue my game on the server,

did everything (reset router, NAT/Gaming, add the service and device) but the server just won't show up.

Using BGW 320-500.

I don't even know how to troubleshoot this because everything seems correctly set up. the only problem is the server is not hosted.

Should you have ListOnSteam as true and ListOnEOS as true so that it will on your list of games on your client?

Also just for reference the Port Forwarding you setup on your BGW320 is just for external connections. It has no impact on your internal LAN connections and Port Forwarding.

1) Yes, this fixed the problem, and I should've checked it earlier.

So the problem is somehow both my serversettings and gamesettings were reset to default (not the one I set up before the move) on June 1st. which is the day i started trying to host at this new place.

So I'll have to reset everything from the serversettings.json and gamesettings.json

I'm glad the save files were unchanged, so I still have all my saves.

Thanks for being so patient and troubleshooting it for me.

1) Do you have your own router in addition to the AT&T Gateway, or just the Gateway,

2) What IP address are you using to refer to your server while you are in your own network?  Your local IP or your public dynamic IP (or some DDNS name pointing to your public dynamic IP)?

1) Just the ATT gateway, no extra router.

2) I didn't set any of this before or after the move, so whatever the default is? I have no idea on this one.

(after the set up back in my old place, game shows up on VRising online server lists, so I never really direct connected, I just click on server name and joined.)

When you set the server up, back at the old place, how did you identify your network to the VRising online server directory?  Did you provide your Public IP, a DDNS name, or did it automatically obtain it somehow?

EDIT: It looks like your server communicates itself to the VRising directory when it comes on line and gives its name, and there is no central setup.  Thus, I'm not sure what's going on.

When I first set it up, it didn't have the option/step to do anything with IP, because I think the game list goes through their menu, we don't have to input IP's when browsing list of games or joining unless we want to direct connect.

So I have no knowledge about how or if they obtain the IP.

I did the bat file where it just runs off of server setting, where I only see ports 9876-9877 has to be open and fowarded.

and back at the old place, everything runs after i correctly forwarded the ports.

Port Mapping a Custom Service is (2) Steps. First you create the Nat/Gaming Rule and then map it to a LAN address. Could you post the results of your Nat/Gaming page on your BGW320?

Here is an example with a Custom rule for VR Rising in the Blue box...

I understand the steps

the problem is not the steps, it's something not working after I followed the steps.

You have it setup correctly on the BGW320 router that's it. Now it is time to look at your laptop Bear. Is Bear setup for Wi-Fi or Ethernet or both and do you have a LAN Static IP reserved (Allocated) for Bear on your BGW320?

If Steam and Steam2 work then Bear should work for all (3) services or you need to look at your configuration for Vrising on your laptop.

Bear is so far connected via wifi.

How do i reserve a static IP for it?

I didn't try the steam, I just saw some post online saying i should open port for steam when i first set up and that's what i did.
