Port forwarding issue in 5268AC
Hello,
After reading all of the recent comments related to port forwarding issue on this appliance(5268AC), I still don’t seem to understand if there is any solution. Can someone clarify if there is any way to make the ‘pinhole’ concept work to avoid using the DMZ/Bridge to personal router as workaround? I am trying to simply forward TCP/UDP traffic on ports 80 and 443 to a wired port that my Ubuntu 16.04 server is connected to but have not been able to accomplish it in past 4 days of trying. This rudimentary configuration has been working in my previous provider’s network with my own router attached to their modem.
I verified that putting 5268AC in DMZ mode works both when is directly connected to my server and when my router is hooked but I experience degradation of service in later case which I want to avoid. Using pinhole forwarding in firewall rules won't allow any packtes get into my server side. I tried both standard application HTTP/HTTPS and user defined one with no success. I alos played with advanced setting Firewall advanced configurationStealth Mode, Block Ping Strict UDP Session Control with no luck.
I am looking for a clear answer if the pinhole concept works in this modem and if it does what am I missing (ie.e firmware upgrade or sw/hw upgrade). If it doesn't can anyone recommend a router that is delivers good perfromance on Gigabit net.

I jsut configured port forwarding on my 5268AC for dozens of ports, including the ones you mentioned. While the process is for it is stupid, it worked just fine. One thign to note as NAT Loopback isnt supported on this device, so you cannot test it from inside your network.

I absolutely concur that the firewall configuration process is 'stupid'. In fact I would even go a step further in stating that with the exception of the IGMP support for IP-TV (U-verse TV) the 5268ac is a waste of silicon and plastic.
Go to the Settings/Firewall/Status page and confirm your firewall configuration is configured as you required.

Thank you for the information. I was able to reach my server from outside network. I conclude the DMZ solution is the way to go then since this is my development server.

You should be using a business class router solution behind the att router.
