At&t fiber on my road
Why is it that at&t ran a fiber line past my house to a very affluent neighborhood? Everyone on the main road needs internet also. Right now us non rich people are 2 and 3 times the price of AT&T fiber for service. I don't think that is fair for us not to get the same chance at service. I did not know that internet had a class system. Everyone at AT&T has been so rude to me when I have if ther is someone there that I could talk to about this. It makes me want to cancel my existing services from them. I guess my money isn't good enough for AT&T or green enough.

Is the affluent neighborhood a NEW Greenfield construction subdivision?
New construction since 2016 and possibly 2015 have been fiber, no need to run copper to then upgrade latter.
In my experience and observations 80% of fiber upgrades in our area is lower and middle class neighborhoods, that is dense housing, small lots, mostly aerial from pole. These are faster to deploy at lower cost.
However those on the main and side roads leading to the neighborhood are not upgraded.
ATT statement is 30+ million addresses by end 2025, which is 50% of their Uverse hardwired platform addresses that received either FTTN (speeds of 25 to 100, 33 million addresses) or ADSL2+ (speeds 18 or less, 24 million addresses) during 2006 to 2015 build out. For the other 50% will have same copper service or ability to upgrade to ATT AIR which is FWA product released earlier in 2023.
