Cost and availability of Static IPs

I need static IPs for at least two VPN connections. This is for work from home purposes. I will be using PFSense as the router. I know that 3 get used automatically in any purchased block, and the smallest block is 8. What will this cost me monthly/annually?

Two costs, the first one time charge of $99 for tech installation of the static IPs set up on the gateway.

The second is ongoing monthly charge of $15 for block of 8 with 5 usable. The other three are used in establishing the block.

First year annual cost 99+(12x15)= $279

each additional year should be (12x15) for $180.

You set up your Gateway to pass the addresses to your router via the Cascaded Router section in the Home Network > Subnets & DHCP page.

If I haven't even had the install done yet, can the technician who does  the install also do the static IPs and save me the additional technician setup fee?

Yes that is a Fiber tap and you currently have a Copper NID so yes you will have an aerial install to a new Fiber Slack NID.

Hey my thoughts, I’m working with a friend that wants a vpn server on his network.  I can setup DDNS.  Port forwarding is another problem - does port forwarding work at all on your network with DHCP addressing or does he need a static for the forwarding to work?  This will save me some headaches and time.  Thanks for the info in advance

Port Forwarding works with DHCP assigned addresses (and with local static addresses).  It records the MAC address of the device.

It works with the public dynamic address as well.
