Fake ATT rewards cards that dont work and then expire

I signed up for fiber service BECAUSE of the $300 in rewards cards ATT offered. I received one card for $150 and activated it (never received the second card). When I tried to use the card that I did receive it wouldn't work. It kept saying the last 3 numbers on the back of the card are invalid. The printed number is somewhat smudged, so MAYBE I'm getting the number wrong. Either way, I couldn't use it. When I noticed that the card was about to expire (4 months after I received it) I called Visa and they told me that ATT could reissue me a new one. The card expired a couple days later. I called ATT and now they tell me that they wont reissue me a card for the one that didnt work to begin with. And they won't reissue me one for the one that I never received. What kind of scam is this? I told them to cancel my service, which they are doing. But still feel the need to complain and warn people that these cards are a scam. The card numbers don't even work to begin with.  (Picture of card attached. looks like an 8, but it's not. Also tried 0. that didnt work. What is it?)

Once you "Claim" your Rewards Card it is good for 6 months after it's Issue date printed on the card. Why did you call Visa instead of the AT&T Rewards Center or the Card Issuer before the card expired? You simply waited too long no scam.

No scam. Once the 6 months is over the card has no value. There is no need to reissue a new card. For the card you never received you should have contacted the Rewards Center within 10-15 days after you claimed both rewards. What was your delay? Rewards Center Phone number: 877.528.6409 or

https://rewardcenter.att.com/home.aspx

Again no scam just a printing error on the $150 card that you did not bother to contact the Rewards Center or the Card Issuers within 6 months of issue .

As soon as you had an issue using the Card, you should have contacted the Rewards Center by phone. They would have directed you to one of the 2 Card Issuers: https://rewardcenter.att.com/myrewardcard/CardholderAgreement.pdf Select one of the (2) 4 digit starting Card number to read the Card Agreement for the (2) different Card issures.

Thanks for your useful responses. I called and Reward Center said to contact Visa. All of it was before the card expired. What a waste of characters typed on your part.

@dbc3 You never indicated in your initial post that you called the Reward Center before you called Visa. Very unlikely since the Reward Center reps are reading a script on their computer and don't refer customers to Visa. The debit cards are only branded as Visa but not issued by Visa as I explained above...

Maybe you should file a BBB Complaint if you really think this is a scam verses a mistake on your part. Have a great weekend.
