Getting POTS/landline with ATT fiber
Currently have T-Mobile for phones, RCN 100Mbps or internet, ATT for copper landline.
RCN keeps raising rates. My spouse wants to different ways to call 911; so switching to ATT fiber and ATT cell phone is out of the question.
I went to ATT store and saw the telephone jack on the back of the fiber modem/router. Salesperson did not know how to order fiber with a dialtone on that jack.
I think I can convince my wife to switch to ATT fiber and move our landline to that jack if the price is right (and get 300 Mbps). But I can't see the additional price or how to even ask for it. I assume I order the ATT fiber, then once its going, ATT switches the land line to the modem and I can keep the same house number.
But how much and how to do it?
(Edit: Yes ATT fiber is available at our address).

You can add phone service as part of your initial Fiber order or after your AT&T Fiber is installed. Please note that it is not true landline service but VoIP which has the same limits are your T-Mobile cellphones for 911 location based services. And you can port your existing copper landline phone number.
As @skeeterintexas indicated the basic information is covered in the link above about the "home-phone" offerings

Internet 300 with ATT PHONE (the renamed Uverse VOIP) service plus fees and taxes I would expect to be around $100 per month depending on which phone plan you select or about $3.50 per day.

Not everybody gets fiber. There is no guarantee it will be everywhere. So you either wait for the possible one day it gets there, go with another provider, or move to where fiber already exists.
So where you live may never get fiber and you'll have to deal with it one way or another.
