QUestion concerning Fiber availability status

I am aware that AT&T is in the process of rolling out Fiber in my area. It has been ran down my road and that are at the point of doing some splicing in the hand Holes. I was checking on fiber status for ordering and such. I got a chat box pop up so I asked in chat if Fiber is available in my area, The chat response was that they seen in my account information that Fiber would be available within a couple weeks.

So my question is, Why can't I see information in my account with reference to potential fiber availability? If I log into AT&T and see that it is coming but not quite ready, it might be a situation where I leave people alone or quit bouncing all over the place looking for further information.

The chat people or bots don’t know when fiber will be available. Att doesn’t announce fiber deployments or dates of availability. To many variables to delay the actual completion of the deployments and turning on the service. If and when you see work such as fiber being pulled through conduit, Att splicing trailers in the area would be a good indication it may be close. Keeping checking for availability monthly and more often if you see work in your neighborhood.

So I guess you are implying that the chat person, or bot, had no clue as to if I was getting fiber in my area or not. They (it) merely told me something they thought I wanted to hear? Funny thing is I spoke with one of the splice techs here and ask him how much more they expected to do in splicing. He told me that one last splicing to add a length of fiber in the system was the last that needed splicing and that we will be probably getting it available to order really soon. Obviously I am hoping it happens sooner rather than later, but I am being patient.

So what will be your opinion as to the next step? They put the conduit in the ground and have Fiber pulled along the main trunk going down the roads. Us people on the opposite side of the road have hand holes and the conduit in place with Mule Tape but no fiber. If they are in fact finished splicing the "Main Line," what is the next step that AT&T uses?

I think the next step is checking the light levels from the splices back to the PFP. No telling how long that will take. Mythoughts can provide more insight. As I said before, check monthly on the availability site. Or weekly if you desire. You won’t see fiber in the handholds until fiber is ordered. Fiber from the tan in ground boxes will be pulled to your handhold and then to the house.

Understood. While I am eager to have decent internet, I am patient and will continue checking fiber availability from time to time.
