Unable to schedule installation to new service address.

I have been an AT&T Cell Customer for years. Tried to schedule and install and service for 1G Internet to the new place I am moving to in Jenks, OK. Even though I could answer all of the security questions and verify that I do indeed have an existing account....and even after providing my Driver's License, they would not set up service without my SSN. As this is PII, I am VERY hesitant to give this level of information out, since i have and still have an active account. What is wrong with AT&T?

Credit check…

while ATT may have a history of how you have paid them for cellular service they want to know how responsible you are in all of your financial commitments.

For those with no or poor credit history service could be denied or require a non refundable credit management fee for their taking a risk on these accounts.

For those who are non citizens without a social security number they are paying extra to establish service.

Or choose a different ISP if not wanting to provide the requested information.
