Two options. Transfer of billing responsibility or she cancels the service, then a few days later open a new account in your name. Call 800-288-2020 to transfer or cancel. If you cancel. Open a new account online. You will be eligible for gift cards as a new customer. Cancelling will require returning the gateway to Att via an ups store.
