When is this going to be available in Chicago burbs????

Anybody have any idea when ATT is finally going to offer their fiber internet in the Chicago burbs??? Overall, what I have from them is ok...but, it's kind of funny I have (75) internet when (1000) should be available....really want to see the difference it makes on Fortnite and more! LOL

It’s already there…. Zip code?

Note only 50% of overall hardwired addresses within 21 states footprint will have direct fiber by end 2025.

As of Oct 1, 24 million addresses already available with another 6 million to go over next 2 years out of 36 million waiting.

BTW my zip code of 15,000 addresses has about 6000+ with fiber or currently 40% of zip code.

Some zip codes are over 80+% while others are less than 20%.

I have internet 50/10 as bonded pair FTTN compared to your 75/20 bonded FTTN.

Hello @DTown1971.

We're happy to address your inquiry about AT&T Fiber and want to help you with the best!

To request AT&T Fiber in your neighborhood, you can follow these steps :

We are continually expanding our fiber footprint to more households every day, check to see if service is available to you now.

You can sign up for notifications on the availability of AT&T Fiber at your address by filling out the Notify Me Form on the AT&T website. Once you fill out the form, you will receive a notification via your preferred method as soon as AT&T Fiber becomes available to you.

We hope this information helped.

Your right 60133 is not currently showing FTTP, only up to 100 FTTN of fiber to VRAD with last distance copper.

However all surrounding zip codes (60103, 60107, 60108, 60172, 60188 and 60193) do show limited fiber availability.

https://broadbandnow.com/Illinois/Schaumburg?zip=60193

Within next two years will know which side of the 50-50 you’re in for this 10 year fiber build out…. 2022 ATT $24 billion spend on fiber development, again $24 billion in 2023 and scheduled $20 billion in 2024… that is $68 billion with 9 million addresses added for just 3 out of the 10 year buildout.

Why would you choose a simple post asking when it might be available where I am to get all defensive and arrogant?

I am not impressed with how much you say ATT is spending/going to spend...they are MUCH too slow in their build out---and, am I supposed to be impressed by what you say they are spending?  You realize your pay and that 68 billion is from the customers and whatever investors they have.

What they offer for speed right now, where I am, is comical.  Thanks for letting me know that "surrounding" zip codes have "limited" availability.  lol   You will lose endless customers prior to your "10 year" buildout.....10 year???  So, what they are trying to do now (and failing) is going to take them 10 years?  So, as they already are...years before the buildout they will be years and years behind the others....  anyway...didn't intend for this to become antagonistic...simply asked if anybody knew when I might be able to get better than 75.  But, you got all defensive with awfull stats so I thought I'd reply.  LOL

There is no guarantee when or if you will ever get fiber. It is not something any of us are entitled to. You were given a breakdown of the general situation.

Straightforward facts were given you. That is not being "defensive and arrogant" just because it does not provide the answer you desire.

Many areas have slower internet or no internet at all. With all the work and regulations to follow, as well as resources to obtain, a 10 year buildout is not unreasonable. Our country has not advanced as a whole to the point it seems you think it should be. Sorry that is the reality.

If you cannot wait, then just go with another provider. We don't lose anything as we are other customer, even some are more informed and experienced then others.
