When will fiber be available in my area?

I was told be an att representative in target that fiber from you guys would be installed in my area in the next couple of months. My zip code is 43612 if that helps with location and I want to be sure this is true and it wasn't the rep trying to make a sale by lying to me since it's happened in the past.

That information would not be know …

Is ATT still expanding the fiber footprint, yes for another 18+ months which should be about 5 million addresses to be added out of 35+ million eligible in Uverse 21 state footprint.

Some zip codes are 80+% fiber while others are less than 20%. Should be noted that fiber being deployed in a zip code does not mean your address, street or neighborhood would receive fiber. The zip code 43612. Has a population of 29000+ and more than 13000 addresses.

Some zip codes in Toledo Ohio does have some fiber… such as 43605, 43606, 43607, 43614, and 43615 to list a few… but there are zip code that have Uverse internet with speeds up to internet 100/20 but are not fiber.

My address is over on Silverdale Dr Toledo oh 43612. There is no fiber option for me and the sales agent I had spoken with said the next couple of months would have fiber. Again not sure if he was just trying to get me to switch from Buckeye Broadband or not since my house is full of heavy gamers that the 20 mbps would not be able to handle.

@Kooky112

The sales agent at Target selling AT&T services is not an AT&T employee. They would have no information on Fiber roll out plans for AT&T. Any AT&T Employee that has knowledge of rollout plans is not going to tell Customers or they could lose their job.

You were dealing with a third-party agent. He can't sell you something that does not exist at your address.

Target is not staffed with ATT employees, and even actual employees at ATT corporate wireless store would not have information on future plans.

As build out can take several months, and current 10 year fiber buildout to reach half of footprint (30+ million) is set to end late 2025, if do not see construction activity started by end of this year I would not expect it to happen.

Toleldo greater area has a population of 500,000 while the greater Milwaukee area (6 counties) has a population of 2 million. My county Waukesha, one of the top 100 per capita income counties in the US and my city, the county seat with population close to 80,000 is currently around 40% fiber. Hopefully we will near the 50% by completion but no zip code is guaranteed fiber.

You can check for ATT AIR, 5G FWA similar to home internet from T-Mobile and Verizon… if ATT AIR is available I would not expect fiber to be coming. Company statement by end 2025 is to have 50% direct fiber (30+ million) and 25% fiber to the cell tower (AIR 15+ million) with another 25% staying on existing copper services.
