Why is it taking so long to turn on the fiber?

So back in late 2019  AT&T started digging up all of our yards and worked all the way they the pandemic installing the fiber in my neighborhood. My house HAs the ATT flowerpot as the installer called it in my backyard. In early February of this year, a crew came to my house and said they needed to get to the box to do their final checkouts. I walked them back there and they told me that everything was good and that in a couple weeks a crew would be coming by putting out flyers for people to sign up for service. a few weeks went by maybe a month and nothing. After about a month maybe late March or early April the crew came by and needed to get to the "flower pot" saying they were doing final checkouts. So I repeated the process of taking them back there. Again I was told that everything was good and that a crew would be putting out flyers for signup within a few weeks. It is now November of 2023. Broadband Now "Yes, I know it is not official" shows my house as having AT&T fiber. I have called about once a month all year and I get the same run around "It will be coming soon is what it says in the system". 

So what does AT&T consider as "soon"? I have had numerous friends get AT&T installed in much larger neighborhoods and it takes less than a year and then they have service. This is at about the 4-year mark now. I still have no idea when I will be able to get service. What the (Edited per community guidelines) is going on at AT&T you used to have knowledgeable people that could answer any question. No one seems to know anything. Why is this taking so long There are literally tons of people wanting to sign up for service and we are all just waiting for you to turn on the service you have already spent 4 years installing. You do want to recoup your investment right????

Did you even read my post? I have called them and talked to them and checked online at a minimum of about once a month for about the last year. They still cannot give me a date. I have overseen installation for IT clients of mine and talked to the installers that have inquired and they have all said they have never heard of a single nationhood talking that long. They have called in and asked supervisors and no one can get any sort of answer other than it is coming soon.

I do not see anywhere in your post that you have checked online to see if fiber is available at your home. Only called in. Att does not announce fiber turn on dates to anyone. Including employees. That’s just the way they are. File a complaint with the fcc. You’ll be contacted by Att but probably won’t get a definitive answer.
