ATT Easement

Hello.  I would like to learn more about an ATT easement that is on a property we are looking to purchase.

Easement and where they're located are controlled by your local county or city, that's who you'd need to speak to.

I did exactly that.  They told me to contact ATT.  I have the plat showing the easement. Need to know if it is still active.

Not exactly. The county told me that this easement which was recorded in 1966 may have been abandoned and not recorded. He said that sometimes occurs.

If there's terminals in the easement or cables odds are they aren't abandoned.

The past indicates overhead.  There are no overhead lines but there is a manhole cover with “Bell Telephone” stamped on it.  It was obviously buried at some point in time
