Cannot call AT&T fiber phone from Spectrum landline. Get "Check dialing procedure" message. Can call from spectrum mobile with no issue.

Parents just installed AT&T fiber for their phone.  When we call from our spectrum landline, we get the message "Check dialing procedure".  Sometimes it does work but not often.  We can call from our Spectrum mobile lines without issues.

Well for one your digital spectrum line and cell phones are going to have different routing paths to AT&T. Also, if it works sometimes but not others the odds are it's not an AT&T issue, report it to Spectrum. My bet is the message you're getting is from Spectrum, which tells you the failure is in Spectrum. Back in the good old days there were trailer codes after a message that told you at what actual switch it failed, those days are long gone, but it was a great trouble shooting tool at the time.
