Can't Sign In to Landline Account
Hi,
I have both a wireless and landline account with ATT. Each account has it's own ID and password.
I would normally go to www.att.com and and depending on what ID/pw I entered, I could go to either the wireless or landline account.
Now, when I go to www.att.com, I can sign in to my wireless account, but if I enter the ID/pw for my landline account, I'm told I have the wrong ID/pw. Seems like www.att.com will only accept my wireless account credentials.
If I keep trying, I'm told too many unsuccessful tries, and I have to reset my ID or pw.
How do I get to my ATT landline account?
TIA

This seems to be a common complaint escalate to a customer care executive seems to be about the only way to get any information.

I'm having the same issue. It seems that AT&T treats its POTS customers as 2nd class customers. It was so difficult to order landline telephone service. I had to spend hours on the phone with AT&T and every representative I talked to tried really hard to talk me out of ordering POTS. It is the only AT&T service available at my address and I wanted to have wireline services. If AT&T is going to continue to offer the services, they should treat all of their customers equally. We shouldn't have to call a special number in order to get anything done related to POTS.
What I find most hilarious is that the "Residential Service Agreement" documents they sent me in the mail have broken links listed for setting up an online account. The normal AT&T login page (for uverse, fiber, wireless, internet, etc) doesn't recognize my account number or phone number, even though it says AT&T Home Phone. I suppose this is because AT&T Home Phone is the digital VoIP phone service and not POTS, but why not just use the same login process for both?

Let's get you signed into your landline account, @am4000!
To sign into your landline account online you will need to create a user ID for the AT&T Customer Center. To do so you can take the following steps:
Get your online registration code
We give you an online registration code when you sign up to manage your account in the AT&T Customer Center. This code is required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to help protect your privacy.
Feel free to view this article for more information on creating an ID for landline accounts.
Let us know if this helps!

@am4000 If ATTHelp can't get it working than read the process that has worked for others in the past. Users shouldn't have to go to such extremes as this is a known reoccurring problem that should have had a permanent fix by now.

Having already setup an online account years ago, and not being able to log in or retrieve or reset my password, I thought you had to re-register. Guidance is almost non-existent. So I tried to re-register using Tech's instructions.
Despite finding out that you have to go through the Customer Service Center, you can't obtain a registration code because you cannot enter your Customer ID because it does not appear in the AT&T monthly statement. There is no "customer ID" number listed, only an account number. So, there is no way to register an account.
Retrieving a password is just as impossible as AT&T does not recognize my sbcglobal.net email address.
Everyone is right, AT&T does not want landline customers and they are trying everything possible to get us to cancel by telephone.
