Indelible phone number
Hello, my grandmother was trying to put the internet & phone bill under my name.
So they told her she needed to cancel the landline to transfer the internet fist and then reactivate the landline under my name
the problem is that, now when we try reactivating the landline they tell us the number is ineligible and we can’t activate it.

Don't know why they told you to cancel the landline, once canceled the number can't easily be retrieved. File an FCC complaint to get the attention of an executive's office.

I have heard from one person saying she got rid of her landline a year or so ago and had a real difficult time getting it back with her original phone number. They were told AT &T is getting out of the traditional land line business. They eventually got it back but that was some time ago. Good luck !
