Please ensure that the device meets the below unlock requirements:
1. AT&T phone or device that is not active on another AT&T account.
2. You must wait 60 days from the purchase date (Installment Plan pay off & Pay in Full).
3. Not reported as lost or stolen or involved with fraud.
4. The account is not past due with any charges.
You can submit a request for the device unlock using the link here: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/.
Once you submit the request, we will review the details and help you further with unlocking the device. Please note that the account owner of the device has to submit the request. Hope this helps!

Hello Robin @ATTHelp , I bought the phone online, im not the original owner of the ATT account, i checked the IMEI and its clean but when i tried unlocking it there was an error “not found on att database”. Here is the IMEI 352348745228665

From the IMEI number you provided we check and see that the device is locked and since you mentioned that you are not the original owner of the account, we would request you to contact the original owner and check about unlocking the device.

i tried but could not reach out to the original owner because i had no details….i bought it used on ebay. I really don’t know what to do @ATTHelp

Use eBay buyer protections if the seller claimed that the phone was carrier unlocked.
If the seller made no such claim, then... unfortunately you now know to look for that in the future.
