phone line connections
OK, i have fiber and have had it for some time. I noticed my phone line is now dead. Online it shows good. Motorola router/modem no light at all. Status from online shows Down, not subscribed. I see the cable from the phone on the modem go to the wall, a second wall box was installed with Green Red and Blue jacks. The phone jack on the modem goes to the Green jack. There is a cable that comes from one of the other two and goes to one of the yellow jacks on the modem and the third jack has a cable that is not connected to anything but has a label that says data cable. I don't actually see where my phone is connected to this system.

So the phone worked and was plugged into the phone jack on the modem? Where is the cord from the phone jack on the modem going now? Have you tried plugging a phone directly into the modem's phone jack?

the phone worked plugged into the old house wiring. don't know what the "data cable" that is plugged into the wall and the other end loose goes, and seems strange wall jack also connects to one of the yellow jacks on back of modem. No phone was ever connected directly to the modem. The phone jack, as i stated has always gone to a block that was installed on the wall with three jacks in it.

My account shows I have AT&T Phone 250 and my phone number. The Status off the modem show no phone line subscribed.

The yellow jacks on the modem are for Ethernet. If it's showing no phone line subscribed, check your bill to see if you have phone service.
Again, is anything plugged into the phone jack on the modem?

Should I repost my original post? Line comes from wall to ONT jack. When powered on I have Broadband and Power lights. Internet works. There is a second box on the wall, 3 jacks, Green, Red, Blue. The phone jack on the router is connected to the Greed jack. The Red is connected to one of the yellow jacks on the Router. The blue jack has a cable plugged into it that goes nowhere and has a label on it that says "Data Cable". I did not plug any of these lines in. Only a technician has plugged this stuff in. All i have done is unplug power to restart. I have added network cables to the other yellow ports on the Router. These connections make no sense to me is why i was asking. I would have thought one of the cables would have connected to the old wiring to allow previous phones to work, as they did. The router was replace a while back by a technician, i don't remember if the phone stopped working then or later.

Sorry, but the post was confusing as to what cable went where. Before going any further plug a phone directly into the modem phone jack to see if it works. In answer to this:
I would have thought one of the cables would have connected to the old wiring to allow previous phones to work, as they did.
It's possible it did since it's going to the "green" jack, but need to see if phone works first.
