Landline transfer
I have a landline number with ATT U-verse and I don’t need my landline anymore because it is causing the bill each month to be way to high. I have landline #; TV; and WiFi and my bill is insanely high and in order to start lowering my payment each month I thought i would start with getting rid of the landline…. I need to transfer my landline number from ATT U-VERSE to my Verizon cell phone how do I need to go about that? Verizon told me to contact ATT and they would explain what I need to do in order to transfer my landline they said it wouldn’t be an issue so can you please tell me what I need in order to make the transfer happen

Call Verizon again maybe you'll get someone who knows how to do this. The way it works is you tell the carrier you want to port your number to, and they tell you what they need from you. Once you give them what they've asked for they take charge of porting the number. Most likely all they need from you is the PIN number for your phone line, which should be on your billing information.

Also, do not request to cancel your landline. The number has to be active to port it over (be it to Verizon or someone else). The porting cancels the line once complete.
As the port process can take a few days, I would be cautious if you are near the end of your cycle. If it completes just after the cycle starts over then you pay for that full month as AT&T doesn't prorate the bill.
