Removal of old obsolete Bell South Pole

There is an old obsolete short green Bell South Pole right next to our driveway that has been ran over. I had a mediacom worker look at it and he said there are no lines even hooked up to it. This needs to be removed.

location: Inlet Beach FL 32461

There's no way someone looking at it can determine whether or not there is service on any of the wires. If there's a damaged terminal, report it.

Actually when you remove the cover you can see that there are no wires connected, don’t need to be an expert to determine that.

As far as reporting it, that’s exactly what I am trying to do. No one wants to take ownership for it. When I call AT&T I get passed around from department to department with no resolution. This is why I posted on this forum hoping someone at AT&T that actually has the ability to get this obsolete thing removed would respond and provide some guidance.

No wires connected to what?  Many terminals pass service through. Photos? If you can't get the service you need through normal channels file an FCC complaint.

The telco provider for zip code 32461 is CenturyLink, not ATT.

The area may have been part of ATT prior to the breakup of MA BELL (ATT) in 1984 but many more rural areas were sold off by the (7) baby bells that were created with CenturyLink, Fairpoint, Frontier Communications being the purchasers. Or was part of United Telephone of Florida becoming part of Embarq… renamed to Lumen Technologies (2022).

Therefor recommend trying to contact CenturyLink which is now renamed to Lumen Technologies.

EDIT… from Wiki

CenturyLink of Florida, Inc. is a telephone operating company providing local telephone services in Florida owned by Lumen Technologies.

The company was established in 1925, later changing its name to United Telephone Company of Florida upon expansion of the United Telephone System. It was owned by United Utilities.

United Utilities later became United Telecom, and acquired Sprint Long Distance from GTE. The company changed its name to Sprint Corporation. The company changed its name to Sprint-Florida, Inc. in 1996. Later, the Central Telephone Company of Florida was merged into Sprint-Florida, which was internally transferred to the control of Central Telephone Company, a subsidiary of Centel, which was owned by Sprint.

Sprint Corporation, in 2005, acquired Nextel and changed its name to Sprint Nextel Corporation. The company intended to spin off its wireline assets into a separate company, which in 2006 occurred as Embarq Corporation. Sprint-Florida then became Embarq Florida, Inc.

Embarq was acquired by CenturyTel in 2009, which in 2010 changed its name to CenturyLink. Embarq Florida, at that point, ceased its independent identity and began carrying on business under the CenturyLink name.

Embarq Florida’s legal name was changed in 2022 to CenturyLink of Florida, Inc., as it was retained by Lumen following Embarq’s sale to Brightspeed.[1] Since Central Telephone Company was included in the sale to Brightspeed, the ownership of CenturyLink of Florida was transferred to another subsidiary within Lumen.[2]
