Still have POTS they installed 09/25/2023

Still able to get POTS on 09/25/2023 installed even though it was supposed to be phased out August 2022.  It's a hard sell trying to get Category 8 cable installed and one POTS line converted to DSL.  The POTS lines are all jumbled up.  Category 5E still goes in house underground connected by 2 x Category 6A and 1 x Category 3 cable for POTS lines.  There will be no progress to convert one POTS to DSL.  Maybe if Uverse was back, I don't know if DSL line will be back.

How can I get my one of POTS lines turned to DSL and get my AT&T Category 5E underground cable replaced with Category 8.1? Category 5E been at my house since 1999!  Do I have to get Uverse installed to get DSL lines back again?

What's trade secret @AT&T_Tech

It's a matter of time I find this splitter and have VDSL2 again.  AT&T is just pulling my leg not to get DSL again and want fiber Optics!

You don't need CAT8 coming into your house. If there would ever be a need for it they'd switch to fiber. CAT5e is plenty good. As far as DSL you'd just have to call and see what's available to you, no one on the boards could answer that.

Hey there @redalio,

We'd be glad to shed some light on this.

AT&T no longer offers DSL services, but you can still check for better offers/plans on our AT&T Official Website.

Thank you,

What speed tier is available for your address?

If internet 300+ do not expect Uverse VDSL/ADSL2+ service to be offered.

You currently have a POTS line and wanting to switch to Uverse VoIP?

ATT PHONE is Uverse VoIP renamed December 2016.

Your picture is not of a VDSL/phone splitter, just splitter.

The VDSL splitter is the bottom unit in the NID…

EDIT….

BTW ATT FIBER is Uverse GigaPower, also renamed December 2016.

If ATT Fiber is available that is Uverse GigaPower.
